I’m just a regular guy who loves riding. For me, and for many others who ride, jumping on the bike and taking off is straight-up therapeutic. I love the freedom of the open road, the wind on my face, and as odd as it may sound, the relationship I have with my bike. Sure, it’s just a hunk of metal that takes you places, but there’s an eerie sort of bond that forms between a rider and his/her bike. At least it has for me.
I firmly believe in wearing protective gear (especially a helmet) while riding, but the libertarian in me says you do what you want.
But do follow whatever state laws govern motorcycle riding. Get your M class on your license. Hell, take the safety course even if you’ve got the M endorsement. If it’s been awhile since you took it, a refresher course could be helpful.
Just be safe. Bottom line.
Ok, I’m off the pulpit now.
